CARDIO TRAINING
Proof positive that “cardio” doesn’t have to mean 45 boring minutes on an elliptical, like a lemming about to go off a cliff! Relying almost exclusively on one’s own body weight as resistance, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) or Medium Intensity Interval Training (MIIT) work provide simultaneous strength training and aerobic activity, which means you can avoid muscle memory and make the most of a limited window of time. I insist on incorporating agility work into these sessions as well, as extra injury prevention measures.
